Catherine Leclerc -  Biography

Catherine is a former pupil of Douglas Academy Music School, Glasgow and completed her studies under Caroline Crawshaw at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester.

Operatic roles include Druisilla in L’Incoronazione di Poppea by Monteverdi, Suzanna in Offenbach’s Robinson Crusoe, Lady Ella in Patience, Edith in Pirates of Penzance, Celia in Iolanthe all by Gilbert and Sullivan, Adele in Die Fledermaus by J Strauss and Norina in Don Pasquale. She has toured to Australia, South Africa and extensively throughout Britain and Ireland with various productions, and has worked with companies including Carl Rosa Opera, Grange Park Opera and Garsington Opera. Concert performances include Soprano Solos in Mozart’s Requiem and C Minor Mass with the Ceciliana Orchestra and Chorus, as well as Gounod’s Messe Solenelle de Saint Cecile with the St Ambrose Singers, Glasgow among other Oratorio credits.

Musical Theatre credits include Bessie Smith in South Pacific directed by Craig Revell Horewood and Laurie in Oklahoma, both by Rogers and Hammerstein.

Catherine’s varied career has also seen her perform with the Opera Burlesque at Glastonbury, The Edinburgh Fringe Festival and the Waterford Festival. She has performed in a series of Public Masterclasses with Cleo Laine and is a regular solo cabaret performer, with her own musical variety show “Cat’s got the Cream”. Catherine is a veteran of the “Thursford Christmas Spectacular” – the biggest variety show in Europe.

Catherine is currently founding an amateur adult choir called "Vox Pop" based in Brussels. This choir will perform hits from across all genres; Rock, Gospel, Musical Theatre all the way to Sacred Polyphony. Stay tuned for news on this project.....
